Youth In Focus Program Internship Available

Looking for an opportunity to help Seattle youth, expand your knowledge of photography, and learn professional skills for the future?  Come and intern with Youth in Focus, a Seattle organization designed to empower teens through photography to experience their world in new ways and make positive choices in their lives.  

As an intern at Youth in Focus, you’ll get experience an office environment, learning the ins and outs of the operation of a small, educational arts non-profit, while also providing some support in the classroom/darkroom.

Some intern responsibilities include: 
• Data entry
• Student outreach 
• Copying and filing
• Performing odd-jobs around the office
• Darkroom preparation
• Scanning and digital editing 
• Inventory of darkroom and office supplies 
• Matting and framing prints
• Hanging shows
• Assisting teachers during class time
• Providing mentorship and guidance for students

Our ideal candidate is highly responsible and self-motivated, with a good sense of humor and some prior knowledge of print and/or digital photography and Microsoft Office. We look for computer skills and experience with youth, but are willing to provide training for someone who displays a passion for our mission, a strong sense of initiative, and an aptitude for learning.

While it is NOT a requirement to be a college student to apply for the internship, qualified students can receive internship credits through Youth in Focus.

Must be willing to work 10-20 hours a week for our Fall Quarter (late September through early December), but hours are flexible and the start/end dates are open to discussion.  
This is an unpaid internship.
