The Mountaineers is the foremost outdoor recreation club of the Northwest, dedicated to the responsible enjoyment and protection of natural and recreational lands and waters. The mission of the club is “to enrich the community by helping people explore, conserve, learn about, and enjoy the lands and waters of the Pacific Northwest”.
The Mountaineers is excited to have an opening for looking for a Volunteer Coordinator. This person would be working under the supervision of the Program Development Coordinator to:
--help recruit new volunteers
--serve as a point of contact for volunteers
--assist with clinics, workshops, and trips
--assist with the Junior Naturalist program
Required skills/traits include:
• Excellent people skills- especially working with people in an instructional environment
• Likes working with kids and adults (background check will be required)
• Previous experience hiking, backpacking, climbing, snowshoeing, skiing (or willing to learn!)
• Independent, proactive, dependable, trustworthy
Desired:
• Good document drafting, publication building, and photo editing skills (or willing to put the time in to learn on their own)
• Interest in conservation/environmental policy issues
